Greg Herndon was a loving son, a caring brother, a devoted fiancé, a doting father, and a capable colleague. He was a bright, kind, and thoughtful person, always eager to learn and help others.
Greg worked in the aerospace industry as a talented NC engineer. He was passionate about his job, recognized for his contributions, and respected by his peers. His ability to diffuse complex issues and graceful performance under pressure, was second to none. There was not a challenge or task that he would shy away from. In fact, he enjoyed expanding his abilities and mastering new skills at a remarkable rate. As a result, Greg had an unbelievable wealth of talent in an incredibly diverse skillset. His accomplishments were many, but it was his commitment to his family that will be his enduring legacy. Above all, he loved his parents and brother unconditionally, and adored his son Kyland and the love of his life, Aida. He truly had a heart of gold, and often put his own personal needs behind those of the people he cared about. Greg had no judgement, only compassion in his heart. His smile could light up a room and he had a way of bringing humor even in the most difficult situations.
In keeping with his nature, Greg emphasized the meaning of life by electing to donate his organs to those in need. In his death, he gave others the gift of life.
Greg is survived by his son Kyland Ace Herndon, fiancé Aida Kurtanovic, his parents Mary & Wendell Herndon, brother Nick Herndon, maternal grandmother Ellen McCloud Trobaugh; uncles, Bob (Carol) McCloud; Denny McCloud; Reggie (Susan) McCloud; Mark (Adona) McCloud; aunts, Diane Cartwright and Beverly (Mike) Skiles; and many other extended friends and family whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Donald J. McCloud, uncle Gregory McCloud, paternal grandparents Myron and Geneva Herndon and uncle Jack Herndon.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted by the family, for Greg's son's education funds.
